Here’s how to maintain the EduMed Site.
- Follow these step for each process, keeping them roughly in order may help.
- Unless otherwise noted, fields called “slug” can be ignored, if left blank they will be created automatically.

Setting up the Learning Resources
Use the “Save Draft” button to save your work (do this regularly). Avoid using the “Publish” button until you are confident the resources’ access is set up properly.
Learning resources are loacated in the “LearnDash LMS” section of the WordPress admin area, under “Resources”.
Add the new learning resources section
- Navigate to WordPress Menu / LearnDash LMS / Resources.
- Click “Add New Resource”
- A box will appear with the placeholder “Add Resource Title”. Give it a name similar to the symposium name.
- In the space below, write a one-sentence welcome statement. This will be displayed to logged in users who have access to the symposium, on the symposium’s main page.
- To add an icon for the resource, use the “Featured Image” tool.
- Add the completion certificate to the course. Under the “Settings” tab, select the EduMed certificate.
Adding digital resources
Digital resources are added using the standard WordPress tools. They can be linked in one of two ways:
- On the symposium’s main page. WordPress Menu / LearnDash LMS / Select the correct entry / “Resource Page” tab.
- As linked “Articles”. This will expose the content as a page linked from the symposium’s main page.
- Navigate to WordPress Menu / LearnDash LMS / Select the correct entry / “Builder” tab.
- Use the tools to add new articles or edit existing ones.
- There is a lot of flexibility in this screen to add “Topics” and “Quizzes”. This can be safely ignored, or used if desired. Find out more on the LearnDash site.
Digital resources may be designed using the WordPress tools.
- Upload photos and videos
- Upload and link PDF documents
- Link to Sponsor resources.
- Write formatted text in the WordPress editor.

- Find the “Access Settings” tab
- Turn the “Resource Access Expiration” switch to the “On” Position
- Enter the start and end dates (and times) in the adjacent form fields.
Adding Completion Certificates
To add a completion certificate to a symposium, you must do the following from WordPress Menu / LearnDash LMS / Resources / Select the correct entry / Edit:
- Assign the certificate template to the symposium
- Navigate to the “Settings” tab
- Find the “Completion Awards” section, and select the correct certificate.
- Create the list of CPD topics
- Navigate to the “dashboard” tab
- Find the “Learning Resource Details” section, and enter each competency on a line on its own.
Checking People In on the Day
In most screens, including the Attendees list, you can show more lines on the screen from the “Screen Options” feature at the top right-hand corner. This can help cut down on unnecessary clicking. If it’s easier, you could just show all attendees on one page, and never have to search.
- Find the list of attendees at WordPress Menu / Events / Find the event in the list / Hover to pointer over it / Click “Orders”
- From the menu at the top, select “Attendees”
- If you can’t see the attendee you are looking for, use the web browser’s search box.
- Click “Check In” beside the attendee.
